Since 2004, the Champions of Health awards have honored organizations and individuals who are making a difference in the health of Oklahomans. Oklahoma State University has joined the Partnership for a Healthier America, led by honororary chair First Lady Michelle Obama, in a three-year commitment to make its campus healthier by adopting guidelines around food and nutrition. Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, 2015
- STARS Silver Rating
In recognition of its sustainability achievements, Oklahoma State University has recently earned a STARS Silver Rating fom the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). Established by AASHE, STARS (Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System) is a self-assesment tool used to measure sustainability progress. With more than 650 participants, AASHE's STARS program is the most widely recognized framework for publicly reporting comprehensive information related to a college or university's sustainability performace. The American Heart Association has recognized Oklahoma State University for its commitment to providing a healthy workplace by naming it as a Gold Fit-Friendly Worksite, for a second consecutive year.

The Oklahoma State University System is living America's Healthiest Campus while proudly receiving 35 Healthy Certifications through the Oklahoma state Department of Health. The OSU system and its partners have been honored in five categories including healthy businesses, healthy campuses, healthy early childhood centers, healthy restaurants and healthy congregation.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health has recognized Oklahoma State University as both a Certified Healthy Campus and a Certified Healthy Business. Few universities attain both Certified Healthy Campus and Certified Healthy Business status. OSU achieved the excellence level, the highest certification in both categories.
- OSUIT Certified Healthy Campus and Certified Healthy Business 2011-2015
Since 2011, OSU IT has been named both a healthy business and a healthy campus. “OSUIT’s” wellness initiative began in the early 1990’s through the creation of the fitness and recreational facilities and programs on the OSUIT campus when the north and south wellness areas of Covelle Hall were opened.
Health at Work Award Winner
Oklahoma State University has been named a Silver winner of the 10th-annual Health at Work Awards sponsored by ComPsych®, honoring organizations who promote employee health and wellness. Winners are selected based on their wellness program's comprehensiveness, deliver, promotion, participation rates and results achieved.
Blue Cross Blue Shield Shark Award 2011-2012
BlueCross and BlueShield of Oklahoma recognized OSU with the Wellness Shark award for outstanding health and wellness achievement and as the overall winner in the statewide Workplace Wellness Awards.
Children’s Health Champion, 2010
“Farm to You” has been named the 2010 Children’s Health Champion and recipient of the Dr. Rodney Huey Memorial Champion of Oklahoma Health award, the highest honor of the Champions of Health awards.
Coordinated by the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service (OCES), Farm to You is an exemplary demonstration of collaboration between state agencies, commodity and community partners with the common mission of delivering research-based information and programs to help Oklahoma youth address major health concerns that affect their quality of life.
